Why we made this app

We've made this app to solve two common family problems: the school-morning wake-up and the “get your gear, it’s time for practice” shout.

iPhone Duo folded: the Family screen with Emma, Jack, Lily and Noah, each with their next alarm and whether it's armed.

Scenario #1: It's 6:45. Is the alarm actually set?

School mornings at our house used to go like this: (1) ask if the alarm is set, (2) get a "yeah," (3) find out at 7:20 that it wasn't.

Bunkbell fixes step 3. You set Emma's School days alarm from your phone. It lands on her iPhone. A little green Armed tag tells you it's really going to ring. No more checking at the bedroom door. (Okay, less checking.)

Snow day? Push 6:45 to 8:00 from the kitchen. Her phone gets the change. You don't have to wake anybody up to tell them to sleep in.

Scenario #2: The pre-practice scramble.

This app helps your athletes get ready for their regular practices. The Tuesday-and-Thursday ones that never make it onto their own personal iOS calendars.

And honestly, why would they? You already get the calendar invites, the team-app pings, the league emails and the "reminder: practice moved" texts. Why clutter their lives with all the calendar events and alerts that you have to get?

They don't need the whole schedule. They need one alarm that says: time to get your bag. You keep the calendar. They get the alarms.

How it works

  1. Make one family account. Sign in with it on every iPhone and iPad in the house.
  2. Pick who uses each device. Emma's iPhone rings for Emma. Your phone can be just a remote.
  3. Set alarms from anywhere. Changes show up on their device, usually in seconds. If a device hasn't confirmed a change and the alarm is coming up soon, Bunkbell tells you.

What it costs
